LG S70TY in Australia: rear-ready is a capability question, not a complete room package

Separate a capability from an included item

LG’s Australian S70TY specification marks Wireless Rear Ready as Yes. That is a capability field, so it should not be transcribed into a basket as a supplied rear-speaker pair. The page’s spatial-sound footnote also explains that a rear field cannot be created without a rear speaker. Neither statement is a complete seller-package inventory.

For an Australian buyer who specifically wants equipment behind the listening position, that leaves two enquiries: which rear equipment is documented as compatible, and whether that equipment is included in the selected offer. This guide reads LG’s product material checked on 3 October 2026. We have not tested surround presentation or confirmed a particular seller’s bundle.

Write the room requirement without an audio verdict

Describe the equipment arrangement you want before assigning a performance judgement. For example, a brief may require separate rear units, or it may favour a simpler arrangement without them. These are purchase preferences. They do not establish that one configuration will sound better in your room or create a measured level of immersion.

A feature illustration is not a floor plan for your own space. Use it to identify the manufacturer’s explanation, then keep the proposed equipment list separate. This article does not advise speaker mounting, wiring changes or electrical work. Location feasibility and use conditions must be checked with the appropriate manufacturer instructions for the actual items under consideration.

Ask for the exact accessory relationship

Do not infer that every LG rear accessory fits because the sound bar has a rear-ready field. A precise enquiry names S70TY and the proposed accessory’s complete model code. Ask for the documented relationship between those two products. The answer should address the exact pair, not a family-level assurance about sound bars in general.

This matters when comparing a standalone listing with a seller-defined package. An additional product might be compatible yet absent from the price shown. Conversely, a photograph might illustrate an arrangement without promising every pictured item. Record manufacturer compatibility and seller inclusion in separate columns so a favourable answer to one cannot silently satisfy the other.

Keep virtual processing and physical inventory distinct

The page uses an explanation of virtual spatial audio alongside conditions about rear equipment. Preserve those conditions when summarising a feature. Do not treat a processing name as proof that physical accessories are unnecessary for every described result. A shortened comparison that drops a footnote can turn a conditional feature into a misleading purchase promise.

At the same time, this guide does not declare the S70TY unsuitable without rear units. Suitability depends on the buyer’s stated goal. If the goal requires a particular physical package, resolve that package. If it does not, evaluate the simpler arrangement on its own terms. Neither outcome calls for an invented sound-quality rating or a claim of independent listening tests.

Finish with an equipment-backed enquiry

A useful seller question asks for the exact sound-bar model, accessory models, inclusion list and the official compatibility reference. Keep the response attached to that offer. When a field merely says rear-ready, actual accessory inclusion is Needs editor verification. When no accessory code is given, compatibility is still unresolved despite the presence of a broad capability label.

The purchase decision becomes clearer once the desired arrangement, supported accessory and supplied package agree. Only then is a meaningful comparison of complete Australian baskets possible. This article supplies no current price, stock assurance, room-acoustic prediction or safety approval; it offers a way to prevent a capability flag from being mistaken for equipment already in the box.
