Give each computer its own relationship to the screen
Dell’s Australian U2725QE record lists a built-in KVM switch, a Thunderbolt 4 upstream connection and a distinct USB-C 10Gbps KVM upstream connection. It also lists video ports. For a buyer intending to share a keyboard and mouse between two computers, the useful question is how each host participates in the whole arrangement, not simply whether both can display a picture.
This guide was checked on 3 October 2026 against the Australian J6NPW model record. It is a purchasing map, not a tested KVM configuration or a promise about particular peripherals. We provide no configuration steps or file-transfer procedure.
Draw a role for every connection
Create one row for each exact computer. Give video, peripheral data and any desired charging role separate columns. Use the model documentation to identify proposed ports and cables. Where a role is not documented, keep the field open rather than assigning it because the connector looks familiar.
A video-only description cannot resolve a keyboard-and-mouse requirement. Conversely, a USB relationship should not be assumed to supply the intended display mode. The aim is to show what needs confirmation on each host, including any dock or adapter that would sit between it and the monitor.
Name the peripherals you expect to share
List the keyboard, mouse and any additional device by exact identity. Decide which items need to move between hosts and which should stay dedicated to one. A general KVM label should not become a universal claim about a webcam, specialised peripheral or network connection that has not been checked.
If a work computer is managed, record any software or connection restrictions that must be confirmed by its administrator. A monitor purchase does not grant permission to install software or bridge organisational systems. Keeping that condition visible can prevent the accessory shortlist from running ahead of access requirements.
Use a complete demonstration brief
Ask a seller or support team to review the named hosts and intended shared devices against the current manual. A demonstration should state the connections and software involved. Its result can then be recorded as a limited observation rather than a promise that any two computers will behave identically.
Compare offered packages only after identifying the arrangement. Dell’s standard package description does not prove that a used or modified Australian listing includes the same cables or stand. Preserve missing components as basket differences rather than borrowing inclusions from the official page.
Do not turn connectivity into measured productivity
The source establishes distinct connection roles and a listed KVM capability. It does not establish switching time, peripheral reliability, data-transfer behaviour or the performance of your exact hosts. Those remain separate questions. We do not repeat display-quality, eye-comfort or productivity marketing as tested conclusions.
Current AUD cost, stock, exact offer contents and any unresolved host relationship require verification. Write Needs editor verification for missing evidence. Save the Australian part identity and checked date with the two-host map, then refresh the manual and seller record before treating the proposed arrangement as confirmed.
